Translatie 3 fasen: initiatie, elongatie, terminatie. ; " Initiatie: het translatie-initiatie complex gaat binden op het 5' cap-uiteinde van het mRNA. Het mRNA wordt gescand tot het eerste AUG-triplet, dit ist het startcodon. ; " Elongatie: een tRNA met een anticodon complementair aan het volgende codon op het mRNA moet worden gerecruteerd.
